One fateful night, she stumbles upon Eddie Michaels, a megastar singer-songwriter who is not as dead as he seems. Despite being deceased, Eddie remains fully functional, able to talk, walk, and even control people's actions through psychic means. As Poppy embarks on a night of blood-soaked destruction with Eddie, she encounters gruesome acts of self-mutilation due to his psychic hold over her.

Tingle weaves together tropes and conventions of road trips, zombies, and meeting one's heroes, all while poking fun at them.
