In contrast, her husband enjoyed more amenities in New York, such as a full bed for sleeping. Hoeller also had to fill out extensive paperwork and purchase an epidural in advance, with the cost running into thousands of dollars.

In New York, she received meals and a private room during her hospital stay, while in Puerto Rico, she was provided with a list of rooms to choose from, with some amenities not covered by insurance. Despite the challenges, Hoeller ultimately had a positive experience giving birth in Puerto Rico.
