Himachal scheme that offers Rs 1.5 lakh assistance for house construction

Himachal Pradesh's government has unveiled a financial aid scheme called Swaran Jayanti Ashray Yojana to support families in building their own houses. This initiative targets eligible beneficiaries from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Other Backward Classes (OBC) who lack a permanent residence. The program aims to provide a substantial assistance of Rs 1,50,000 towards the construction of a new house for those who meet specific criteria.

To qualify for the scheme, applicants must be permanent residents of Himachal Pradesh and belong to the SC, ST or OBC categories. Their annual income must not exceed Rs 50,000, and they must not own any property. Additionally, the land intended for construction should be registered in their name according to revenue records.

Applicants are required to submit several documents, including a Himachali Certificate from the executive magistrate, a caste certificate, and an annual income certificate. Other necessary paperwork includes the Tatima and Jamabandi of the land, a Gram Sabha proposal, a spot report, a No Objection Certificate (NOC), a proposal, and a photograph of the house verified by the local Pradhan.

The application process for the Swaran Jayanti Ashray Yojana is conducted offline. Interested individuals can download the necessary application form from the official government website, fill in the required details with self-attestation where necessary, and attach the relevant supporting documents. Upon submission, applicants should request a receipt or acknowledgement, which will contain crucial information such as the date and time of submission, as well as a unique identification number if assigned.
