With less than 24 hours until NFL teams finalize their rosters for the 2026 season, the New York Giants face a crucial decision regarding wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Calvin Austin's ACL injury has opened a roster spot for Beckham, a position that seemed unlikely given the depth of the Giants' receiving corps. Head coach John Harbaugh delivered a clear message to Beckham during the Giants' 23-6 preseason win over the Jets. Harbaugh acknowledged Beckham's progress, stating, "Yes, he has done enough to make an NFL roster, for sure. He's played well. He's gotten better as camp's gone along. He deserves credit for that." Beckham has shown improvement since the start of camp, earning praise for his performance in Friday's game against the Jets.

In just three games this preseason, Beckham caught four passes for 23 yards, but his breakout performance against the Jets solidified his case for roster inclusion.

Berth had been in jeopardy after a relatively unimpressive start, recording only two catches for 23 yards in the first two preseason games. However, Beckham's performance on Friday changed the narrative. He finished with three catches for 53 yards, including a crucial 23-yard catch from Jameis Winston that set up a touchdown. In total, Beckham had six targets, with one of them leading to a potential 70-plus-yard touchdown had Winston connected.

Beckham expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, saying, "It would mean everything to me if I made it."

Beckham's performance came at a pivotal moment, nearly a decade after his last appearance with the Giants. If he can maintain his form, he could secure a spot on the team's roster for the 2026 season.
