Festival Sabores de Cabo Frio, Brazil: 12th Edition Runs Through Sunday With R$45 Signature Dishes

The 12th Vale Nihon Matsuri festival is taking place in Campos do Jordão, Brazil, through Sunday, August 30, 2026. The event spans four days and features free attractions from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, offering a mix of Japanese and Korean culture, gastronomy, and music. Located at an elevation of 1,600 meters in the Serra da Mantiqueira, Campos do Jordão is known as Brazil's winter capital with alpine-style architecture.

The festival's main venue, Parque Capivari, is situated in the heart of the town's tourist district, complementing local attractions such as chocolate shops, the cable car to Morro do Elefante, and the winter gastronomy circuit. The event attracts visitors from São Paulo, a 2.5-hour drive away, especially during the summer heat.

Visitors should arrive early to secure parking, as lots fill quickly on festival Saturdays. Attendees should bring warm clothing, as temperatures drop significantly in late August evenings. The festival, running from August 27–30, 2026, is free of charge, organized by Portal R3, CBN Vale, and Parque Capivari.
