Dylan Crews hits an RBI single in 10th sends Nationals past Marlins, 5-4

Dylan Crews secured a 5-4 victory for the Washington Nationals over the Miami Marlins on Saturday by hitting an RBI single with two outs in the 10th inning. Miami's pitchers had held the Nationals scoreless for 21 innings before Michael Petersen walked José Tena and Daylen Lile, allowing an automatic runner on Nasim Nuñez to third.

Crews then singled to left of second baseman Xavier Edwards, scoring the winning run. Orlando Ribalta pitched a scoreless 10th inning, marking his first major league win in 70 career appearances. Washington has won three consecutive games for the first time since August 7-9. Washington starter Cade Cavalli left the game after four hitless innings due to a right ankle injury from an 93 mph grounder by Javier Sanoja.

Miami's Heriberto Hernández hit his 22nd home run of the season, but Washington took the lead in the third inning when Joe Mack's misplay allowed two runs to score. Crews scored on Brady House's single, and Jorbit Vivas added an RBI double, making it 4-0 for Washington. Miami had only one hit through 6 2/3 innings before Leo Jiménez's single.

Agustín Ramírez and Kyle Stowers contributed for Miami, while Brad Lord entered for Miami and Hernández hit a go-ahead home run. Miami's Janson Junk will face Washington rookie LHP Andrew Alvarez in the next matchup on Sunday.
