Dubois beats Moore to keep Baumgardner in picture

Caroline Dubois secured a decisive victory over Amelia Moore to retain her WBC and WBO lightweight titles and maintain her path to a highly anticipated bout with unified super-featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner in 2027. The bout took place at the BP Pulse Arena in Birmingham, with Dubois demonstrating her dominance throughout.

She connected a powerful left in the fifth round, sending Moore to the canvas, though Moore quickly got back up and was subsequently outmaneuvered by Dubois. Dubois secured the unanimous decision, with scores of 99-90, 99-90, and 98-91. The British fighter, now unbeaten in 15 professional bouts with 14 wins, had a noticeable advantage over Moore, who had only fought five professional fights.

After the fight, Dubois engaged in a heated exchange with Baumgardner, who had watched the match. Baumgardner, who will face Elif Nur Turhan in November, criticized Dubois for tightening up and being tired. Meanwhile, undercard fighter Terri Harper rebounded impressively after a loss to Dubois in April, defeating Miranda Reyes by knockout in the second round.

Harper, who previously considered retirement, expressed her satisfaction with a career-best performance and her determination to continue her journey in the sport.
