Delhi model murder: Accused Imran was booked for sexually harassing minor in 2018

On Thursday night, Imran, a 26-year-old content creator, arrived at the home of 21-year-old Muskan Sharma in West Delhi with the intent to kill her. An hour before his arrival, Imran allegedly went live on Instagram, threatening Muskan and even claiming he would commit suicide himself, according to police. He was arrested in West Delhi's Rajouri Garden after a firefight with police, who had tracked him using CCTV footage and identified him on foot near the Sub-Registrar Office on Nala Road around 11:15 PM.

Upon police identification, Imran opened fire at the officers, hitting him in the legs but failing to injure any police personnel. He was subsequently taken to Guru Gobind Singh Hospital. Imran has a history of legal issues, including a POCSO Act case in 2018 and a culpable homicide case in 2021. The relationship between Imran and Muskan had reportedly deteriorated over the past two months, with Imran allegedly attempting suicide and developing a drug addiction.

Muskan had previously reported Imran to the police on July 18 without filing a formal complaint. On August 26, Imran confronted Muskan at a hotel, and on August 26, they got into an argument at her home. Following the argument, Imran allegedly strangled Muskan before stabbing her multiple times with a knife, taking her phone, and fleeing the scene.

Muskan was discovered by the family's domestic help and pronounced dead at the scene. Police registered an FIR under section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on August 27.
