Death of NPC chairman, Yusuf painful – Ukam, federal commissioner mourns

Bishop Alex Ukam, the Federal Commissioner representing Cross River State at the National Population Commission (NPC), has mourned the loss of Dr Aminu Yusuf, the NPC chairman. Ukam described Yusuf's death as particularly painful due to his lofty plans and aspirations for the Commission, which had not yet come to fruition. The NPC chairman's death came as a shock to Ukam and the Commission, as Yusuf was known for his strong commitment to advancing the affairs of the Commission.

Ukam commiserated with Yusuf's family, management, and staff, praising the late chairman as an impactful leader and team player who showed goodwill, love, and support to his colleagues. He emphasized that Yusuf's brief tenure as chairman had already demonstrated the promise of providing purposeful leadership to the Commission. Bishop Ukam acknowledged that the circumstances of Yusuf's death should be accepted as the will of God and prayed for forgiveness for the deceased's shortcomings, acceptance of his soul, and strength for his family, colleagues, and the entire nation to bear the loss. Yusuf passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026.
