Dar, Saudi and Turkish FMs discuss regional situation

ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistani officials engaged in discussions with their counterparts from Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, focusing on the latest regional developments and geopolitical climate. The conversation, facilitated by the Foreign Office spokesperson, aimed to address the ongoing US-Iran conflict and the significance of an upcoming major international gathering.

Upon congratulating Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan on the successful election of Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed from Mauritania to lead the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation, the Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, engaged in a dialogue with the Foreign Ministers of both Saudi Arabia and Türkiye.

The ministers shared insights on regional events and matters of mutual concern, including the upcoming meeting of the R4 group, which comprises Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, and Egypt. They expressed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation. In addition to their face-to-face meeting, Dar also held a phone conversation with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister, where they deliberated on the evolving regional situation and agreed on the importance of discussing forthcoming engagements, such as the impending R4 summit.
