Rose Adikwu, a 200-level political science student at Rev. Fr. Moses Orshio Adasu University (MOAUM), has been hospitalized in Makurdi after allegedly suffering severe burns from an attack allegedly committed by her cousin, Agbo Felicia. The incident occurred on August 28, 2026. According to Adikwu, the conflict between her and Felicia had been ongoing for some time before it worsened.
Adikwu claims that after moving her belongings out of their shared apartment, Felicia boiled water and added hot pepper, salt, onions, and seasoning, then poured the mixture on Adikwu before locking the door and leaving her inside. Neighbors heard her cries for help, rescued her, and contacted the police. Felicia was subsequently arrested.
The Students’ Union President, Akighirga Vitalis, condemned the incident as a "grave and unacceptable assault on the life and well-being of a fellow student". He assured that the union will closely follow the matter and support any necessary disciplinary actions if the allegations are proven.
