Benue: Alia’s interventions restoring peace, accelerating development in Agatu – Council chairman, Melvin Ejeh

James Melvin Ejeh, the Chairman of Agatu Local Government Area in Benue State, has reported that interventions by Governor Hyacinth Alia's administration are improving security, infrastructure, and the restoration of displaced communities. During a visit to the Agatu Development Association's Makurdi branch, Ejeh discussed the positive changes in the local government, including the ongoing construction of a major road, renovation of educational institutions, and healthcare centers, as well as efforts to enhance security and rebuild displaced communities.

He highlighted the return of displaced residents, especially those from the Zone C region, and the deployment of mobile police to ensure the safety of residents. Ejeh expressed optimism about the construction of an Army battalion along key routes and the upcoming deployment of additional security measures. The council chairman also donated N3.7 million towards the completion of the ADA Hall, with his wife contributing an additional N500,000, bringing their combined donation to N4.2 million.

Stakeholders and former council leaders praised the efforts to restore peace and accelerate development in Agatu, particularly the handling of the Egba/Ologba crisis.
