5-star small forward Will Brunson discusses recruitment, Duke

Stan Brunson, a Duke graduate from the 1990s, now has a son named Will who is attracting significant attention from college basketball recruiters. The 5-star small forward, currently in his junior year at IMG Academy, has been offered scholarships by numerous Division I programs, including Kansas, Auburn, and Louisville. However, securing a spot on the Duke roster remains uncertain.

In an interview on the Up Next Podcast, Will explained his connection to Duke, stating that growing up, his father's Duke affiliation influenced his fandom. Nevertheless, in recent times, he has become an avid college basketball fan, enjoying YouTube replays of March Madness. Despite not having a favorite team, his recruitment visits include meetings with Duke head coach Jon Scheyer, along with coaches from NC State, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma State.

Will's decision on where to sign will hinge on the opportunity to gain playing time. During the podcast, he emphasized his desire for an opportunity to take the floor and a coach who believes in his potential and is committed to his development.
