‘We’re getting close to A’ – Pelpuo rates government’s job creation B+

Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, the Minister of State in charge of Special Initiatives, has given the government's job creation efforts a B+ grade, indicating they are nearing an "A" rating. This assessment comes from an interview on Citi FM, where Pelpuo responded to inquiries about the government's performance in job creation during its first one and a half years in power.

Despite ongoing concerns about unemployment, Pelpuo maintains that the government is making progress towards an "A" rating. He defended the government's record, arguing that job creation should not be solely measured by the number of people employed directly by the state. Instead, Pelpuo emphasized the government's adoption of a "multisectoral approach" to job creation, which involves collaboration between various ministries, departments, and the private sector to increase employment opportunities.

However, Pelpuo acknowledged that the government is still working on compiling comprehensive data to accurately determine the exact number of jobs created since President John Dramani Mahama's administration took office.
