“We have to stop this man”: mass sperm donor fathered 121 kids

A Dutch man from the Groningen region is believed to have fathered at least 121 children as a sperm donor, according to an investigation by Nieuwsuur. He operates mainly online, approaching women directly and has been active despite operating outside licensed clinics. The man, who is 43, sat on a government commission that evaluated Dutch donor law in 2019.

Dutch clinics can only use one donor for up to 12 families, but private arrangements between donors and parents are not bound by any legal maximum. The Dutch health and youth care inspectorate oversees clinics, not private conception. Mothers of the children want the donor to stop, citing his evasive behavior and lies about the number of children he has fathered.

Some mothers have reported receiving sexually suggestive messages from the man. There are also indications that the same man has fathered children abroad, including in Germany and Denmark. The donor declined to be interviewed.
