A NATO representative confirmed the limited stocks of Patriot systems among US and NATO forces in Europe.

Both sources requested anonymity. The US military definitively lacks sufficient Patriot systems to defend against a potential prolonged attack with ballistic missiles, said the US official. It possesses only very limited capabilities to defend against a single ballistic missile attack or a deflected Russian missile.
