Tinubu To APC Govs: We Must Be United, Ensure Grassroots Mobilisation Ahead Of 2027 Poll

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emphasized the importance of unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC) as preparations intensify for the upcoming 2027 general election. The party's 31 governors are expected to play a crucial role in mobilising support across their respective states. In Abuja, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state revealed that the President stressed the importance of strengthening the party while ensuring that its political activities remain focused on reducing poverty and improving the welfare of Nigerians.

Sule also highlighted that national unity is a key priority, urging governors to ensure that citizens are actively involved in the implementation of government programmes. The responsibility for grassroots mobilisation during the election, according to Sule, will primarily fall on the governors, as electoral contests are determined at the state and local levels.

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state, who addressed journalists, reiterated the governors' unwavering support for President Tinubu's re-election. Discussions between the governors and the President focused on measures to alleviate the cost of living, food security, agriculture, and other areas that would benefit Nigerians. Uzodinma explained that each governor would identify the specific requirements for a successful campaign in their state, acknowledging that the combined efforts of state and federal level initiatives will determine the election outcome.

All APC governors have expressed their solidarity with President Tinubu, pledging to collaborate with the party and its leadership throughout the campaign.
