Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.72%

Taiwan stocks closed higher on Friday, as sectors like Glass, Optoelectronics and Financials drove the market upward. By the end of trading, the Taiwan Weighted increased 0.72% to reach its highest point in a month. The top performers of the day on the Taiwan Weighted included Walsin Technology Corp, BizLink Holding Inc, and Wieson Technologies Co Ltd. These companies saw gains of 10.00%, 9.98% and 9.96% respectively, rising to prices of 313.50, 2,260.00 and 26.50.

Conversely, the worst performing stocks of the session were Mirle Automation Corp, Lianyou Metals Co Ltd and Top Bright Holding Co Ltd, which fell by 9.95%, 6.27% and 6.23% respectively to end at 190.00, 1,495.00 and 271.00. The number of stocks that declined surpassed those that rose, with 629 falling and 377 advancing. Additionally, 116 stocks remained unchanged.

Crude oil prices for October delivery saw a slight decline of 0.41%, while Brent oil for November delivery dropped by 0.24%. Gold Futures contracts for December also experienced a 0.74% decrease. The USD/TWD exchange rate declined by 0.20%, and TWD/CNY remained unchanged at 0.28%. The US Dollar Index Futures rose by 0.04% to 99.13.
