#SHOWBIZ: Black's musical brotherhood and legacy

Malaysian singer Hanifah Muhammad Hanafiah, widely known as Black Hanifah, has made a lasting impact on Malaysia's music scene. His career took off after winning the third season of the popular TV3 reality show Mentor, where his vocal talent was nurtured by mentor Mas Idayu. This win led to his victory as Popular New Male Artist at the Anugerah Bintang Popular Berita Harian (ABPBH) in 2009.

Throughout his career, Black Hanifah has released hits like "Teman Pengganti," "Hanyut," and "Sabar," with his latest single "Hijab Rindu" topping the music streaming charts in Malaysia.

Beyond his solo achievements, Black Hanifah shares a close bond with fellow singer Hazama Ahmad Azmin. The duo has frequently performed together, leading fans to assume they work as a package. However, Black Hanifah clarified at a press conference for the upcoming Suka Showcase @ Sea that they remain independent artists with separate managers and performance fees. Despite this, they enjoy a strong professional and personal friendship that began when Hazama served as Black's backing vocalist on tracks like "Drama King."

Their camaraderie deepened over the years, with they facing challenges that only strengthened their friendship. Even during arguments, they managed to remain respectful and maintain their bond. They are planning a holiday together to Japan, further showcasing their close relationship. Black Hanifah expressed his gratitude for the cross-generational appeal of his music, noting that it brings a sense of fulfillment when young children sing along to his older tracks.
