Rangers announce £8.5m deal for Girona winger Kim Min-su on four-year contract

Rangers have secured the services of Kim Min-su, a talented winger currently playing for Spanish club Girona. The 20-year-old South Korean forward has agreed to a four-year contract with an additional year option, following a £8.5 million release clause that was activated. Born in South Korea, Min-su moved to Catalonia with his family at the age of ten and has since resided in the region.

He began his professional career with Girona's youth teams at the age of 16, making his senior debut two years later. During the 2024-25 season, the winger made seven appearances for Girona's first team, including a match in the Champions League. However, before finalizing his move to Rangers, Min-su spent the 2025-26 season on loan at FC Andorra, where he contributed six goals and four assists in 40 games.

His transfer to the Scottish club marks the 12th signing for Rangers this summer as they aim to strengthen their squad. Rangers previously attempted to sign Mikey Moore on loan from Tottenham Hotspur and considered a deal for Couhaib Driouech, but both negotiations fell through due to medical issues. Min-su met with Rangers manager Derek McInnes prior to the Europa Conference League play-off game against Jablonec, but did not participate in the match.

His debut is expected when Rangers face Aberdeen in the league this weekend. The South Korean forward is anticipated to quickly adapt to his new environment and could prove to be a valuable asset for his new team. Rangers will now seek to finalize other summer signings, including Kevin Kelsy.
