Plaque placed at home of Liverpool legend Paisley

A plaque commemorating the former home of Liverpool Football Club's most successful manager, Bob Paisley, has been unveiled at his Woolton residence. Bob Paisley, who took charge of the club in 1974 following Bill Shankly's resignation, led Liverpool to six league titles, three European Cups, three League Cups, a UEFA Cup, a Super Cup, and three Charity Shields during his nine-year tenure.

Born in Hetton-le-Hole, Paisley spent 45 years at the club in various capacities, including player, physiotherapist, coach, assistant manager, manager, and director. He resided in Woolton for many years, where he lived in a bungalow on Bower Road during his time as manager. Paisley's family, including his wife Jessie and three children, lived in the bungalow, where he could unwind away from the public eye and spend time with his loved ones.

The unveiling of the plaque was attended by family members, including his son Robert, grandson Graham, and other Liverpool legends like Ian Rush, Sammy Lee, and John Aldridge. Graham Paisley expressed that the plaque is a cherished honor for his parents, who were not fond of publicity. Ian Rush, who was signed by Paisley as a teenager, praised the manager as "something special" and credited him for helping him grow and gain confidence in his career.
