The MCA Perak administration placed the national flag and state flag upside down at their headquarters today, taking full responsibility for the incident and expressing their seriousness in addressing it. Dr Mah Hang Soon, the party's chief, stated that the staff involved bore responsibility and offered to assume their positions, citing respect for the personal decision of the affected staff who had dedicated years of service.

The mistake occurred in the morning when staff were tasked with raising and adjusting the national flag and state flag in celebration of Malaysia's Birthday. Mah emphasized that the error was unintentional and had no intent to insult either flag. Upon realizing the mistake, the national flags were immediately lowered and properly raised again, he added.

Police from the Ipoh Police Station visited the MCA Perak headquarters around 1 pm to conduct an investigation and record statements from the affected staff and administrative personnel. The party has offered cooperation to the police, and will continue to do so. MCA Perak also apologized to Sultan Perak and the entire Malaysian people for the incident.

Mah acknowledged that personnel-related matters would be handled promptly, while acknowledging the contributions and service tenure of the affected staff.
