Ola Electric launches S1Z, deliveries to begin in December

Ola Electric unveiled its latest electric scooter, the S1Z, with an introductory price of Rs 79,999. The company announced that bookings for the scooter will commence and deliveries are slated to start in December. Bhavish Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of Ola Electric, made the announcement on social media. The S1Z is positioned to set a new standard in India's electric two-wheeler market.

The S1Z is available in two battery options. The 3.1 kWh model costs Rs 79,999 and provides a range of 179 km on a single charge. The higher-priced 5.1 kWh model, priced at Rs 99,999, offers a significantly longer range of 301 km. Both versions are powered by Ola Electric's proprietary 46-series LFP Bharat Cell and are capable of reaching a top speed of 70 kmph.

Aggarwal emphasized that despite being priced affordably, the S1Z is not a stripped-down product. He stated that the company developed every critical component in-house, including the battery cell, motor, vehicle, and software. This approach, according to Aggarwal, provides the scooter with a technological edge over competitors.

Ola Electric plans to begin deliveries of the 5.1 kWh variant in March 2027. The company recently reported a consolidated loss of Rs 336 crore for Q1 FY27, down from Rs 428 crore in the previous year and Rs 500 crore in the previous quarter. However, Ola Electric noted that its market share in India's electric two-wheeler sector has risen from 5.1% in Q4 FY26 to 8.4% in Q1 FY27, while auto revenue increased by 72% quarter-on-quarter.
