No politician can beat Bawumia in 2028 if voters focus on issues – Miracles Aboagye

NPP communications director Dennis Miracles Aboagye is confident that former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia cannot be defeated in the 2028 presidential election if Ghanaians focus on the issues affecting their lives. Aboagye believes the race to the presidency will largely depend on the solutions presidential candidates present to the challenges facing the nation at that time. He argued that voters have grown more discerning and increasingly evaluate political candidates based on issues rather than party affiliations.

"When people go to vote, they vote for the roads they don’t have. They vote for the schools they don’t have," Aboagye stated in an interview with Accra-based Starr FM. He added that professionals and workers in various sectors would also assess candidates based on their perceived ability to enhance their lives. "The teacher is going to cast his vote based on what he thinks will benefit him.

The nurse, the architect, the trotro driver, the taxi driver, all these people, they are going to get up in the morning to go and cast their vote, not because of the colours," he said.

According to Aboagye, the core question for voters in 2028 will be which candidate possesses credible solutions to the country's challenges. He reiterated his conviction that the election in 2028 will not be about past performance but rather which political candidates offer solutions to the issues facing the country in 2028. Aboagye emphasized that voters would compare the presidential candidates and determine which one proposes solutions that can provide relief.

He cautioned voters against allowing political rhetoric and distractions to divert attention from the substantive issues at hand. "And that, for me, is why we should not allow any politician, especially those in government, to create a facade and continuously distract us from paying attention to the issues," Aboagye said. He was confident that Dr Bawumia would win the 2028 elections if Ghanaians concentrate on the issues and pay attention to the real solutions needed.
