Every year, the NBA 2K series attempts to improve upon itself, providing players with renewed hopes. However, this year, that optimism has not been fully realized. This fast-paced transition almost went unnoticed, making the beginning of MP's career arc feel more like an afterthought. Furthermore, MP's character has been difficult to connect with thus far, lacking the typical personality that would allow players to root for him. It feels as though much of his personality has been stripped away, leaving only the supporting characters to carry the narrative.
However, I am only halfway through the story, and it is possible that MP's character development will improve as the narrative progresses.
