Mudavadi Leaves for Angola to Represent Ruto at AU Extraordinary Summit

Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has journeyed to Angola to serve as President Ruto's representative at the 21st Extraordinary Session of the African Union (AU). This meeting will take place on August 30, 2026, with the primary objective of enhancing Africa's conflict prevention and resolution mechanisms. Mudavadi's office stated that the agenda will include exploring practical ways to bolster the continent's ability to prevent, manage, and resolve conflicts.

The timing of Mudavadi's trip to Luanda is significant as it provides Kenya with a platform to reinforce its dedication to peaceful conflict resolution, regional stability, and the strengthening of African-led mechanisms for addressing disputes.
