Min Woo leads after flying start at Tour playoff finale

Min Woo Lee of Australia dominated the first round of the PGA Tour's playoffs finale, known as the Tour Championship, with an 8-under 632, leading by two shots from Viktor Hovland, Collin Morikawa, and Chris Gotterup. Lee, nicknamed "The Chef," put his average performance from the previous two weeks behind him at East Lake, leading the exclusive field of the season-ending tournament in Atlanta.

The top-ranked golfer, Scottie Scheffler, was tied for fifth at 5-under, while Adam Scott, another Australian in the field, was four shots behind at 4-under after a 66. Lee's electrifying start, which no one anticipated after his two lowly finishes earlier, was the result of a perfect day on the rain-softened course, where he made eight birdies, four on each nine, including the final.
