MetMalaysia: Haze expected to persist across Sarawak tomorrow, with thunderstorms in several areas

KUCHING (Aug 28): Haze is set to continue across all parts of Sarawak tomorrow, Aug 29, along with isolated thunderstorms and rain in certain regions, according to the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia). The forecast predicts haze will affect Kuching, Miri, Bintulu, Sarawak, Mukah, Samarahan, Sarikei, Serian, Sibu, Kapit, and Limbang in the morning.

Afternoon thunderstorms are expected in Kuching, Kapit, Miri, and Limbang, while haze will persist in Sri Aman, Betong, Bintulu, Mukah, Samarahan, Sarikei, Serian, and Sibu. Nighttime rain is forecast for Kuching, Kapit, Miri, and Limbang, with haze remaining in the remaining divisions. MetMalaysia predicts daytime temperatures will range from 24 to 35 degrees Celsius.

In coastal Sarawak waters, western winds will blow from west-southwest at 10 to 20km/h, with wave heights between 0.5 to 1.0 metres. Northern waters will see west-northwesterly winds at the same speed range, with wave heights also between 0.5 to 1.0 metres.
