Man accuses Ridge Hospital of medical negligence as 31-year-old wife dies after C-section

Daniel Ofori Asante, husband of a 31-year-old woman who passed away following a C-section at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, known as Ridge Hospital, has accused the hospital and some medical staff of negligence. Theresa Boakye Dua, the couple's first child, experienced her first childbirth at Ridge Hospital. Asante claimed the operation resulted in severe loss for the family, stating that his wife's death was due to "blatant negligence and unprofessionalism."

He had been struggling with the tragedy since July 16, 2026, and described the loss as deeply affecting not only his family but also Ridge Hospital staff, her colleagues at the Ministry of Health, members of the ICGC Covenant Temple, and their extended family and friends. Asante described Theresa as a "gentle, peaceful, and unproblematic soul," emphasizing that her death was an irreparable psychological trauma for the family.
