Keralam Speaker’s Onam greetings reach author Sumangala five years after her death
Letter addressed to the late children’s writer lands at her home at Wadakkanchery; son Ashtamoorthy responds with a pointed social media post
Keralam Assembly Speaker Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan sent Onam greetings to author Sumangala, who had passed away five years prior. The letter, addressed to Sumangala, Desamangalam Mana, Oottupara, Wadakkanchery, Thrissur, was received by her family. Her son and cultural activist Ashtamoorthy shared the unexpected delivery on social media, expressing both amusement and bemusement.
Ashtamoorthy thanked the Speaker for remembering his mother, but his post carried a subtle irony, suggesting that the address could have been changed to "Paralokam" (the other world) instead of her current address. He added a touch of humor, wishing the Speaker to remember to send greetings for future festivals too.
