Jon Ossoff distances himself from left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, joining several Democrats

Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff has distanced himself from left-wing streamer Hasan Piker, citing Piker's "reckless and dangerous rhetoric" about American Jews, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Piker recently made comments suggesting that American Jews are "singularly invested in Israel," which Ossoff's spokesperson called "reckless and dangerous."

Ossoff's stance on arms sales to Israel has drawn criticism from some of Georgia's Jewish community. In August, Piker called Ossoff a "dark-horse" presidential candidate and praised his critical stance on aid to Israel. However, Piker later distanced himself from Ossoff, stating that Ossoff does not have "the right instincts."

The tension between Ossoff and Piker comes as Georgia's Jewish community has criticized the senator's votes to block arms sales to Israel. Ossoff is running for reelection in November against Republican Rep. Mike Collins, a high-stakes race that could determine which party controls the Senate. AIPAC has also attacked Ossoff for his votes to block weapons sales to Israel.
