James Vowles addresses Alex Albon-Carlos Sainz collision at Dutch GP

Williams team principal James Vowles has acknowledged that his team shares responsibility for the late-race crash between Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz at the Dutch Grand Prix. The incident occurred during a chaotic race won by McLaren's Lando Norris, with the two Williams drivers clashing while struggling outside the points-paying positions.

In a post-race analysis, Vowles stated that both drivers bear some blame for the collision, but the team as a whole also shares culpability. The issue arose from Williams' decision to leave Sainz on worn tires during a virtual safety car period, as stopping would have put him behind Albon and Franco, leaving the Williams cars unable to gain any track position.

Despite Albon retiring from the race following the incident, Sainz managed to finish 16th and received a 10-second penalty, which he deemed "fair" after the race.
