Jackson Chourio and Jacob Misiorowski lead the Brewers to an 8-2 victory over the Mets

Jackson Chourio and Jacob Misiorowski propelled the Milwaukee Brewers to a 8-2 triumph over the New York Mets on Thursday night. Chourio contributed 4-for-5, including two home runs, four RBIs, and four runs scored. Misiorowski (14-5) managed command and velocity challenges, allowing two hits and striking out six over six innings.

Both hits came in the fifth when Jacob Young drove in with a double and Christopher Morel secured the run with a single. Nine of Misiorowski's 95 pitches registered at 100 mph or higher, peaking at 101 mph. He issued two walks in his last two starts, contrasting with four walks in his first seven outings of that stretch. The 6-foot-7 right-hander seemed to have landing foot issues on the wet Citi Field mound, prompting a brief discussion with umpire Vic Carapazza and a minor mound adjustment.

Andrew Vaughn, Gary Sánchez, William Contreras, and Cooper Pratt each contributed an RBI for the Brewers (83-51), who lead the majors with the best record. Chourio's two-homer performance this season is his third and fifth of his career, plus another in the 2024 postseason against the Mets. In the same series, Manaea surrendered six runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings as Milwaukee swept the Mets.

The Brewers will host the Texas Rangers and LHP Cody Bradford on Friday, while the Mets will face Hunter Brown and RHP Logan Henderson at home, in their next games.
