Israeli strikes in Southern Lebanon remain ongoing

On Friday, Israeli strikes in Gaza resulted in the deaths of three more individuals, according to Palestinian authorities. The civil defense agency in Gaza reported the discovery of three bodies in the town of Al-Qarara, east of Khan Yunis. Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis identified the victims as two individuals aged 42 and one aged 28, all related.

An Israeli military spokesperson stated that the military was investigating the strike. Similarly, Israeli strikes on Thursday also claimed the lives of three people, as reported by the civil defense agency. Israeli forces accused the victims of plotting attacks against Israelis. Despite international appeals for a peace plan, Israel has continued to strike civilians in Gaza, with its forces expanding their operations.

High representative for Gaza under the "Board of Peace," Nickolay Mladenov, expressed concern that deadly Israeli strikes hinder the people's perception of the ceasefire, which he noted was still in effect. Mladenov claimed that every use of force beyond immediate threats and incidents not addressed by the deconfliction mechanism negatively impacts the peace process.

Hamas has also failed to meet its commitments, including disarmament, although they recently pledged to comply. Israel has warned of retaliation for the flying of kites in Gaza, as some kites crossed into Israeli territory, leading to parents restricting their children's kite-flying. Defence Minister Israel Katz declared the deadline for stopping kite-flying had passed, stating that any launch would be considered an act of terrorism and met with retaliation.
