India on path of ‘punarnirman’ under Modi government: Amit Shah at Gandhi varsity

Union Minister Amit Shah addressed the convocation ceremony of Gujarat Vidyapith, a university founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920, in Ahmedabad. Shah emphasized that Mahatma Gandhi's message of 'punarnirman' or reconstruction remains relevant even after 100 years. He suggested that guided by Gandhi's spirit, the Modi-led Central government is taking India forward.

Shah advised the students to set a goal for their life and not worry about whether it will be achieved or not, as long as the work is worthwhile. He stressed that the goal should be for society and the nation, not just oneself or family. Shah highlighted that the Indian way of life, values, and knowledge tradition, as espoused by Gandhi, are eternal and will never become obsolete.

He also highlighted that the National Education Policy, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is built on five pillars - mothertongue, skill, multidisciplinary study, Indian knowledge tradition, and holistic personality development. Shah urged the youths to follow the seven sins and 11 vows defined by Gandhi and lead their life accordingly.

He also spoke about the government's efforts to strengthen villages, following Gandhi's emphasis on village empowerment.
