Hezbollah chief again rejects Lebanon-Israel deal, refuses 'surrender'

Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem firmly denied a recent agreement between Israel and Lebanon, refusing to surrender any territory. He denounced the framework deal as illegitimate and harmful to Lebanon's sovereignty during a televised address. The group has been at odds with the framework agreement since its inception. Despite recent violence decreasing following a US-Iran memorandum and the Israel-Lebanon framework, Israeli strikes and shelling continue in southern regions of Lebanon.

Qassem vowed Hezbollah would not submit to the agreement and affirmed support for a November 2024 ceasefire.
