Fiorentina in talks with Man United over Zirkzee loan

Fiorentina is engaging in discussions with Manchester United about a potential loan deal for their forward Joshua Zirkzee. The Dutch international is set to leave Old Trafford this summer and has caught the eye of clubs across Europe. The negotiations between Fiorentina and United involve a loan extension until the end of the season with the possibility of making the transfer permanent next summer.

Zirkzee, who still has three years left on his contract, is willing to move to the Serie A club. While an agreement is not considered imminent, there is hope that a deal can be finalized before the transfer deadline on September 1st. Zirkzee transferred from Bologna to Manchester United for £36.5 million in 2024, having been recognized as the Serie A's Under-23 player of the season for the 2023-24 campaign.

He scored on his debut, a 1-0 victory over Fulham. However, Zirkzee has faced challenges in breaking through the first team at United, featuring in only 27 starts out of 75 appearances during his two-year spell at the club. The 25-year-old managed to score nine goals in all competitions for United during the 2025-26 season.
