FG seeks Nigerians’ inputs for 2027 Finance Bill

The Federal Government has invited Nigerians and other stakeholders to provide input on the Finance Bill 2027. The Federal Ministry of Finance announced the call for proposals via its official X account, seeking practical, evidence-based legislative or regulatory reforms to strengthen Nigeria’s fiscal framework and boost the business and investment environment.

Stakeholders are encouraged to focus on key areas such as taxation and revenue administration, fiscal policy management, fiscal transparency and accountability, financial and economic regulation, and other related matters. Submissions should propose reforms that address gaps, inconsistencies, or challenges in existing laws and regulations, reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, improve ease of doing business, and enhance revenue mobilisation and fiscal sustainability without hindering economic activity.

Proposals should specify the relevant law or provision requiring amendment, along with proposed drafting language. The deadline for submissions is September 11, 2026. Stakeholders can submit proposals via email to [email protected] or through an online form provided by the ministry. The Federal Government values these contributions and encourages clear, practical proposals capable of delivering measurable improvements in Nigeria's fiscal and economic outcomes.
