Ferrari pays tribute to Michael Schumacher with special Italian GP race suits

Ferrari plans to implement an upgraded engine during the upcoming Italian Grand Prix at Monza, alongside aerodynamic enhancements and track-specific modifications for its home race. The move comes after the team secured approval for two ADUO-permitted upgrades this season due to being over 4% behind the Additional Development and Upgrade Opportunities (ADUO) benchmark.

Ferrari's engineers, headed by Enrico Gualtieri, have approved the introduction of a new power unit featuring a revised combustion chamber and turbocharger, expected to provide a 15 horsepower boost. This increase is anticipated to narrow the gap with Mercedes, considered the current best all-round package. Additionally, the team will utilize a new fuel developed by Shell to further enhance performance.

The 067/7 engine, permitted under ADUO, has passed reliability tests in bench trials, and Ferrari aims to capitalize on this advantage in front of a home crowd. To complement the engine upgrade, Ferrari will also deploy a novel rear wing design, the blown exhaust, which may be adjusted depending on the need to reduce drag at Monza.

The Scuderia intends to leverage this moment to secure a strong start to their title bid after missing the podium in the past two rounds. With a historical lack of success at Monza, where they have won only three times in the last 19 races, Ferrari recognizes the importance of a turnaround. However, they must also consider the possibility of sending George Russell to Baku, given the track's similarities to Monza and the potential to challenge Ferrari's dominance with one driver at the front.
