The NBA GOAT debate rages on, with Stephen Jackson claiming that a recent development disqualifies LeBron James from the conversation. While LeBron James' fans have long championed him as the greatest of all time, many believe Michael Jordan still holds that title. Kobe Bryant is also frequently mentioned as a contender. James currently has the fewest championship rings among these three legends, and Stephen Jackson asserts that his move to the Philadelphia 76ers has impacted his legacy.

The 76ers, already a championship-ready team with stars like Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, and a recent acquisition of Jaylen Brown, now have James as their final piece to become champions. Jackson argues that LeBron joining a "championship-ready" team like the Sixers, after already winning a championship in Los Angeles, disqualifies him from the GOAT conversation.

He believes that going back to Cleveland was the only move that made sense to keep James in the conversation as the best player in the league. While LeBron led the Lakers to a series win in the playoffs as the only superstar last season, joining a team that appears borderline unfair in terms of talent makes his case more complicated.

However, to discredit his entire GOAT case based solely on this move seems a bit reactionary. Should LeBron fail in Philadelphia, fans might hold it against him.
