Enitan seeks support, says no individual can transform civil service alone

Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, the recently installed Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, has urged all government employees to assist in reforming the civil service and work together towards a more efficient, professional, and citizen-oriented agency. Enitan assumed his role as Head of the Civil Service of the Federation on August 27, 2026, following the retirement of former Head Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack.

He expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for entrusting him with the responsibility and acknowledged Mrs. Walson-Jack's efforts in advancing key reforms and establishing a solid foundation for future growth. Enitan stated that the new administration would continue building upon these reforms while further embracing the EPIC Culture of Efficiency, Productivity, Incorruptibility, and Citizen-Centredness.

He emphasized that transforming the civil service is not the responsibility of any single individual but a collective effort that requires the commitment and ownership of every public servant. Enitan called on Permanent Secretaries, Directors, Agency heads, and the entire workforce to prioritize professionalism, innovation, accountability, and results-driven service delivery.

He stressed that the civil service must remain responsive to the evolving needs of Nigerians and capable of providing quality public services efficiently and effectively.

Enitan firmly believed that stronger collaboration among senior officials and the wider workforce would be crucial in enhancing institutional capacity and ensuring that government policies yield tangible results for citizens. He pledged to collaborate with all stakeholders in strengthening professionalism and efficiency, ultimately contributing to the realization of the Federal Government's reform objectives and the Renewed Hope Agenda.
