Disha Salian Death Case: Bombay HC Concludes Hearing On Father’s Plea, Reserves Order

Mumbai, August 28, 2026: The Bombay High Court concluded its hearing on a petition filed by Disha Salian's father, Satish Salian, on Friday and has reserved its order. Disha, a former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, tragically died in June 2020 after falling from a building in Mumbai. Satish has alleged that his daughter's death was not a suicide, but rather a result of assault and murder.

He has requested a fair and thorough investigation, claiming the police did not register his complaint. The State government maintains that preliminary investigation by the Mumbai Police indicated Disha had committed suicide. On Friday, the court examined various aspects of the circumstances surrounding Disha's death, questioning whether the injuries visible in the photograph were consistent with a fall from that height.

The government submitted that Disha had suffered a skull fracture, serious jaw injury, and other injuries upon impact. However, the court remained cautious, stating that it was not drawing any conclusions and emphasized the need to examine the circumstances to determine if they raised genuine suspicion. During Thursday's hearing, the government had questioned the five-year delay in approaching the court.

The bench, however, inquired about the authorities' actions during this period and why no offence had been registered and investigated in accordance with law. The court also noted that Disha's parents may have been shocked by the loss of their daughter, which could explain the delay. Additionally, it mentioned that the authorities reopened the inquiry after three to four years.

The court has now reserved its order on the petition, leaving the fate of Satish Salian's plea uncertain.
