Currie Cup result: Lions beat Stormers to keep semi hopes alive

The Lions secured a commanding 36-12 victory over the Stormers at Ellis Park, maintaining their hopes of reaching the Currie Cup semi-finals. The hosts opened with a penalty kick by Matt Coetzee, and within three minutes, Mentoe crossed for the Lions' first try. Coetzee added the conversion, extending the lead to 10-0. Despite the Stormers' persistent efforts, handling errors and penalties stifled their progress.

In the second half, Lions captain Jarod Cairns scored a powerful try, followed by Adams and du Plessis. Latica Nela sealed the win with a late try. The Stormers' sole try came from centre Markus Muller, and they were also penalized with a yellow card to winger Dominic Malgas. The Lions now stand third with 20 points, while the Stormers face an end to their season, unable to secure a top 4 position.
