Connecticut's Cam Maldonado belts three home runs in game for San Francisco Giants' affiliate Eugene

Cam Maldonado, a 22-year-old outfielder from Connecticut, belted three home runs in a recent game for the Eugene Emeralds, the High-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Maldonado, who was selected in the seventh round of the 2025 draft, had been working hard to reach a 20-20 season, notching 20 home runs and 20 stolen bases.

The Eugene Emeralds' manager noted Maldonado's progress, reminding him of his milestone goal before each game. The second batter of the night, Maldonado hit a two-run homer over the left-field wall, and two innings later, he led off the third with another homer to reach the 20-20 mark. In the sixth inning, he hit another two-run homer over the right field wall, capping off a remarkable night.

Despite striking out in his final at-bat of the game, Maldonado's performance was a highlight of his first full season as a professional baseball player.
