Cockroach Janta Party Founder Abhijeet Dipke Narrowly Ahead Of AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal On List Of Preferred PM: Survey

New Delhi witnessed a surprising preference in a recent survey conducted by India Today-CVoter Mood of the Nation (MOTN). Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), edged out Arvind Kejriwal, the chief of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), by a slim margin of 0.1 percentage points in terms of being the most preferred candidate for Prime Minister.

The survey revealed that 1.3% of respondents favored Dipke, while Kejriwal managed to secure 1.2% of the votes. The close margin highlights the political relevance and growth potential of new political figures in the face of established parties.

Dipke, who started his political journey with a satirical twist, now stands as the preferred choice for Prime Minister among a small yet significant segment of the population. He formerly worked with the AAP's communications team under Kejriwal's leadership from 2020 to 2023. The survey results underscore the rapid shift in political relevance in the age of social media-driven movements.

The significance of these numbers lies not in overtaking Kejriwal by 0.1 percentage point, but rather in the fact that Dipke has managed to enter the national conversation alongside an established leader.

In a broader perspective, the survey reflects the preferences of the Indian electorate. Prime Minister Narendra Modi retained his position as the most preferred candidate, with 48.7% of respondents backing him. Leader of Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi came in second with 27.1%, followed by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay at 9.2%.

Other notable names on the list include former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at 2% and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav at 1.7%. Dipke, at 1.3%, is just narrowly ahead of Kejriwal at 1.2%.
