Clubs remain interested in Harwood-Bellis

Southampton manager Tonda Eckert has disclosed ongoing discussions regarding defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis' future with the club. The 24-year-old has garnered attention from various sources throughout the summer, notably drawing interest from Portuguese side Benfica prior to Aston Villa making an unsuccessful bid for him. Eckert expressed, "There is interest and there is a conversation," during a press conference on Friday, affirming that Harwood-Bellis remains Southampton's possession at present.

Concurrently, midfielder Caspar Jander's recovery from a muscle injury sustained during pre-season is progressing at a slower pace than anticipated. He is projected to return before the international break in September, although his response to training sessions hasn't been as favorable early on. Eckert remarked, "We were hoping for him to come back a little bit quicker," expressing optimism about his imminent return. Southampton will clash with league leaders Millwall at St Mary's on Saturday at 15:00 BST.
