'Cheeni Ro Rahi Hai, Pyaaz Mehengi Ho Gayi Hai,' MP Congress Stages Protest In Bhopal Over Inflation | VIDEO

On Friday, members of the Madhya Pradesh Congress staged a protest in Bhopal to draw the government's attention to the rising prices of onions and sugar, according to sources. Protesters gathered in Kolar, sitting on the ground with onions in garlands and holding placards that read, "Cheeni ro rahi hai, pyaaz mehenga ho gaya hai." The video of the protest circulated on social media, showcasing the demonstrators' frustration.

The Congress party workers claimed, "Cheeni ro rahi hai, pyaaz mehenga ho gaya hai. Aur lagataar jis tarah se inke mantri keh rahe hain, shakkar mat khao, khana mat khao." This translates to "Sugar prices are rising, onions have become expensive. And the way government ministers keep saying, 'Eat sugar, don't eat food,' makes you question what this government actually wants."

The party demanded that the government take action to address the increasing prices of essential commodities, as the soaring costs are straining household budgets and making daily life difficult for ordinary families.

Onion prices in Bhopal fluctuate in various markets, currently ranging between ₹50 to ₹70 per kilogram depending on the variety. Meanwhile, sugar prices have skyrocketed to around ₹70 per kilogram in some retail outlets. The protesters emphasized the government's responsibility to intervene and stabilize the prices, urging the authorities to wake up and address the issue at hand.
