‘Burgers falls in Greensboro

On Thursday, the Greensboro Grasshoppers faced off against the Spartanburg Huskies in a baseball game. The Grasshoppers secured an 11-4 victory, showcasing their dominance from the outset. Starting pitcher Jormy Nivar made his High-A debut, facing the Spartanburgers' Jormy Nivar. Left-handed pitcher Reinold Navarro took the mound for Greensboro.

Maxton Martin and Quincy Scott each contributed a home run in the second inning, helping Greensboro tie the game at 2-2. Jared Jones and Tony Blanco Jr. then extended Greensboro's lead with back-to-back home runs. Jared Jones subsequently walked, allowing Severino to drive in two runs with a single in the third. Blanco added an RBI single, making it 5-2 in favor of the Grasshoppers.

Anthony Susac relieved Nivar and helped secure the third inning. Hub City forced Greensboro to their bullpen with the bases loaded and one out in the fourth inning. Cesar Aquino entered and drove in a run, followed by Gleider Figuereo's RBI single, extending Greensboro's lead to 5-4. Susac then walked the bases loaded to start the inning, with Edward Florentino and Jared Jones contributing two-run hits.

The Grasshoppers led 9-4 at the end of the fourth. In the fifth inning, Paxton Kling and two walks loaded the bases for Greensboro, who sent lefty Victor Cabreja into the game. He struck out and recorded a flyout, ending the inning without a run. Hub City remained scoreless throughout the game, as Kai Wynyard pitched two and two-thirds perfect innings from the fourth through sixth.

Jones added a second solo home run in the seventh, and Dylan Palmer tripled in the eighth. The next scheduled game between Hub City and Greensboro is set for Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET, with Hub City sending left-hander Ben DeTaeye to the mound and Greensboro sending southpaw Jacob Bimbi.
