BJP’s struggle is not limited to Nagendra’s resignation, says Vijayendra

BJP leader B.Y. Vijayendra stated on Friday that the party's struggle against alleged financial mismanagement in Karnataka extends beyond Minister B. Nagendra's resignation. He emphasized that the ₹187 crore allegedly misused by the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation should be returned to the corporation and those involved should be held accountable.

Vijayendra described Nagendra as merely a "small fish" in the scandal, asserting that there were more prominent individuals implicated. He expressed uncertainty about whether Nagendra's resignation has been officially accepted and pledged to react only after there is clarity on the matter. The Enforcement Directorate's investigation revealed that funds were used for purposes other than the original allocation, including purchases of gold and liquor.

Vijayendra demanded that the misappropriated funds be returned to the corporation to benefit the Scheduled Tribes they were meant to support. He accused the Congress party's leadership of involvement in the scam and criticized the Chief Minister for not pushing for Nagendra's inclusion in the Cabinet due to pressure from the party high command.

Vijayendra also criticized the State government for failing to provide timely compensation and benefits to the family of Chandrashekhar, an employee killed by the scam. He urged the government to ensure the family received their rightful compensation promptly.
