Baleba out up to three weeks with ankle injury, Carrick says

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick disclosed that new £81.48 million signing Carlos Baleba will be out for up to three weeks due to an ankle injury, but emphasized it is not a significant concern ahead of their upcoming Premier League match against Ipswich Town. The 22-year-old midfielder joined United this week from Brighton & Hove Albion, though he will have to wait for his debut.

Carrick told reporters, "He's got a little ankle issue so maybe a couple of weeks or so, maybe three weeks. But we knew that before, so it’s no major issue. It’ll be great to have him when we can."

Regarding Baleba's potential return before the international break, Carrick responded, "We’ll wait and see. We’re hopeful, but I don’t want to put any deadlines on it just yet." Carrick also reported that midfielder Mason Mount has resumed training after taking part in United's 1-1 pre-season friendly against Paris St Germain, but Amad Diallo remains sidelined due to an injury sustained in training. The manager stated, "Amad won’t be involved this week. He’ll be out for a little bit longer."

United aims to bounce back in their first Premier League home game following a 2-0 loss to Hull City in their season opener. Carrick expressed excitement about the match, saying, "We’re massively looking forward to the game. We had a setback last week and we want to get back to playing well and winning football matches."
